Talk about your vision. Often a conversation with family members or a financial advisor is the best way to begin to bring a charitable plan into focus. YCF has the expertise through our grantmaking and community efforts to provide information on organizations, areas of interest and needs in our community. We would be honored to join you in these conversations if you choose.
Decide when to give. Based on your needs, we can help you decide if it is more appropriate to establish a fund immediately or later in your life, make a bequest through your will or through other planned giving strategies, support existing funds and organizations, or a combination of all with flexibility for the future.
Decide what to give. We can talk with you about the different kinds of assets you can use to open a fund. While most people open a fund with cash or stock, you can also make a gift of real estate, an interest in a family business, artwork or other property.
Talk with us or request information about how to give. Giving options include a variety of funds that enable you start giving immediately, or develop giving strategies that will make gifts to your fund later. You can even do both.
Finalize a plan. Once you have decided on what you want to support the Foundation can take care of all the administrative details. The YCF staff is always available to ensure that your grants and donations are acted upon to have the impact that you intend both now and after you are gone.
