Morgantown, WV – The Women’s Giving Circle of North Central West Virginia (WGC), a component fund of Your Community Foundation of North Central West Virginia, Inc. (YCF), proudly announces its third annual community grants to support women and girls in North Central WV.

Awards were presented to six local organizations; Adventurous Girls, a program of Monongalia Starting Points of the Family Resource Center, Girls on the Run of NCWV, Monongalia County Child Advocacy Center, Libera, Inc., Pantry Plus More and the West Virginia Botanic Garden.

This year’s grants total $14,000 and the awards range from $1,500 to $3,000. Barbara Myers, Chairwoman of the Grants Committee organizes the application process each year and said, “I look forward to our annual grants and making a difference in the lives of the women and girls in our community.”

The WGC increases its giving each year through growth in membership of the organization and has gifted over $35,500. Beth Fuller, Chairwoman of the WGC shared, “The WGC is about Women empowering Women through philanthropy; we together can make a greater impact than giving alone.” Fuller added, “the members of the WGC have been introduced to new projects and programs that we may not have known about otherwise and it allows our nonprofit organizations to dream a little to create new ways of helping to empower women and girls.”

The Women’s Giving Circle encourages new membership throughout the year and extends a special invitation in April to the WGC Annual Membership Soiree. All women in the community are invited to come, learn, and join regardless of race, religion, or ethnicity.
